Job Summary
The Graphic Designer will be part of an expanding and specialist Hospitality team within greymatters. The role will work closely with a team of motivated and experienced design professionals in our Bangkok Studio. Working as part of a collaborative design team, you will help interpret Client and Operator Briefs in creating Brand Design schedules and Documentation through innovative and impactful design solutions, across a variety of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and evolve distinctive brand identities for new and existing hospitality concepts (hotels, resorts, restaurants, etc.).
- Develop core brand assets including logos, iconography, typography systems, color palettes, and visual motifs.
- Craft unique visual languages that reflect each property’s story, location, and guest experience.
- Apply brand identity across a wide range of touchpoints including:
- Guest-facing collateral: key cards, welcome kits, in-room guides, signage, stationery.
- Food & beverage: menus, coasters, packaging, uniforms.
- Wayfinding & signage: interior/exterior signs, directories, room numbers.
- Digital platforms: website design direction, email templates, social media branding.
- Marketing materials: brochures, posters, launch campaigns, event branding.
- Partner closely with:
- Interior designers to ensure seamless integration of visual branding into physical spaces.
- Vendors and production teams to bring printed and fabricated materials to life with high fidelity.
- Participate in naming, brand storytelling, and positioning exercises.
- Create moodboards, visual concept decks, and brand narratives for client/internal presentations.
- Contribute to brand audits and market research to ensure differentiation.
- Build and maintain comprehensive brand guideline documents for internal and external use.
- Define usage rules for logos, typography, imagery, tone of voice, and applications.
- Ensure consistency across all branded assets by reviewing and approving designs from other departments or agencies.
- Stay up to date with design and hospitality industry trends.
- Recommend and implement new materials, formats, or technologies to elevate guest experience.
- Explore sustainability-driven design solutions aligned with brand values.
- Communicate progress, seek feedback, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Maintain organized design files and archives for ongoing and future use.
Education/Qualifications
- Tertiary related qualification (BA, BSc) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Related memberships or affiliations to Professional Organisations preferable
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in graphic design, preferably with Hospitality, lifestyle, or luxury brands, both urban, resort properties, and F&B exposure.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong portfolio showcasing branding, print materials, and collateral design.
- Attention to detail and strong understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
- Good calligraphic skill.
- Ability to handle multiple design projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for hospitality branding and visual storytelling.
- Experience with packaging and wayfinding design (a plus).
Written and Verbal Language Skills
- English: Good communication in written and spoken English and computer skills
- Thai: Fluent written and spoken Thai
- Other languages an advantage
Exposure (Other indirect experiences that would be beneficial to the role)
- A demonstration of a ‘passion for design’ and a sincere interest in Hospitality Lighting design would be considered a major advantage
