Did you know that ?
The building of the Austrian Embassy Bangkok received several prestigious Austrian and international architecture awards! In the design by Marlies Breuss, Holodeck Architects, Austrian achievements in research, energy and technology intertwine with culture specific Thai way of living and building traditions.
Thai-Austrian cooperation in the field of innovative and sustainable architecture has seen a boost in recent years, thanks to the research project “contemplative dialogues” with 23 Thai students of architectural faculties of six Thai Universities under the guidance of Marlies Breuss. They examined the possible use of traditional building materials in innovative architecture and came up with very creative and sometimes extremely stunning solutions. Thanks to the support of ASA and his then President Dr. Ajaphol Dusitnanond, Austrian architecture and design were offered great exposure at the annual ASA Exposition in 2019, which counted more than 400.00 visitors, and hosted two Austrian expositions: the YoVA4 exposition about young Viennese architecture and landscaping offices, and a huge “smart city” exhibition by the City of Vienna.
