Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS design and research

 Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS Design and Research, widely known by its abbreviation, HAS Design and Research, was established by renowned architects Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee. It is an internationally recognized architectural practice based in Bangkok and Shanghai. The studio operates at the intersection of architecture, culture, and urban research, advancing a distinctive design philosophy grounded in contextual intelligence and material experimentation, and creates works that transcend typology—merging spatial innovation with social, environmental, and cultural relevance across Asia. Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee are architect members of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), and both of them have been appointed as jurors for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) – RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards, as well as guest editors of the Journal of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA Journal).

This Thai firm recently gained international recognition for a series of outstanding projects both in Thailand and abroad, including the Museum of Modern Aluminum Thailand, Simple Art Museum, High Line Bangkok, Aluminum Grotto and Public Ground, The Glade Bookstore, and Forest Villa, and received numerous international winner awards, including The Chicago Athenaeum Museum’s International Architecture Award, Créateurs Design Award, Golden Trezzini Award, INDE. Award, LIT Lighting Design Award, and recognition in Wallpaper’s Architects’ Directory. Their projects have been widely exhibited and published across Asia, Europe, and North America. Professors and architects Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee are active in academia as visiting professors, adjunct professors, and design critics in architecture at institutions such as Tongji University, Chulalongkorn University, World University of Design, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. They have also been appointed as lifetime honorary professors at Kunming University of Science and Technology, contributing to architectural discourse and education.
