ประวัติ
ร้านทองไทยเจริญ เป็นอาคารพาณิชย์ก่ออิฐถือปูน 2 ชั้น รูปแบบอิทธิพลสถาปัตยกรรมตะวันตก สมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 ซึ่งแพร่หลายไปตามหัวเมืองที่ทรงแต่งตั้งเชื้อพระวงศ์หรือเจ้านายไปปกครอง
อาคารนี้ ชั้นล่างใช้เป็นร้านค้า ชั้นบนใช้เป็นที่พักอาศัย เดิมร้านนี้เคยเป็นร้านขายยา ต่อมาเปลี่ยนเป็นร้านขายหนังสือ ปัจจุบันเป็นร้านขายทอง โดยคุณสุรัตน์ พิชญาจิตติพงษ์ เช่าจากเจ้าของคือ คุณบุญสิน บุญสุข และได้ซ่อมแซมอาคาร รวมทั้งอนุรักษ์งานปูนปั้นตกแต่งซึ่งเป็นของเดิมไว้ เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2536

History
Thai Charoen Gold Shop is a 2-storey shophouse with a Western-influenced architecture that was popular in King Rama V’s reign, especially at provinces where member of the royal family were sent to govern.
The building functions both as a shop and a residence. Originally, this shop was a grugstore and was changed to a bookshop before becoming a gold shop at present. The shop owner, Surat Phitchyachittiphong rented the place from Mr. Bunsin Bunsuk in 1993, and has the building repaired as well as the decoration conserved.

ประวัติ
ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ สาขานครลำปาง ซึ่งปัจจุบันเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์ธนาคารไทยนั้น เป็นอาคารก่ออิฐถือปูน2 ชั้น สถาปัตยกรรมโคโลเนียล ลักษณะเด่นคือมีมุขยื่นด้านหน้ารับด้วยเสาลอยและซุ้มโค้ง พื้นที่ชั้นล่างเคยเป็นที่ทำการธนาคาร ส่วนชั้นบนเป็นที่พักของผู้จัดการสาขา โดยแบ่งพื้นที่เป็นห้องพัก มีผนังเกล็ดไม้โดยรอบเพื่อช่วยในการระบายอากาศและมีระเบียงรอบ
อาคารนี้มีความสำคัญในฐานะที่เป็นอาคารแห่งแรกในจังหวัดลำปาง และเป็นธนาคารแบงค์สยามกัมมาจล ทุนจำกัด (ปัจจุบันคือธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ จำกัด (มหาชน) ) สาขาที่ 3 ในประเทศไทย ต่อจากสาขาทุ่งสงและสาขาเชียงใหม่ ก่อตั้งขึ้นในรัชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระปกเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว โดยดำริของคณะกรรมการธนาคารดังกล่าว ซึ่งมีพระยาไชยยศสมบัติเป็นนายกกรรมการ ได้เล็งเห็นว่านครลำปางมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองทางธุรกิจทั้งด้านการค้าและการป่าไม้ แต่ยังขาดแคลนเงินบาทและเงินเหรียญไทย ประชาชนต้องใช้เงินรูปีของพม่าซึ่งอยู่ใต้การปกครองของอังกฤษทำให้เกิดการเสียสมดุล ธนาคารจึงได้ก่อสร้างที่ทำการสาขานครลำปาง เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2473 ซึ่งได้ใช้เป็นที่ทำการมาโดยตลอด นอกจากนี้ยังเคยเป็นที่พักของอดีตผู้จัดการสาขา บางท่านเป็นบุคคลสำคัญที่เป็นที่รู้จักกันดี โดยเฉพาะม.ร.ว. คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมช ศิลปินแห่งชาติสาขาวรรณศิลป์ ก็เคยพำนักที่นี่ระหว่างที่ท่านดำรงตำแหน่งผู้จัดการธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ สาขาลำปาง
ในปี 2540 ธนาคารได้ก่อสร้างที่ทำการใหม่ในบริเวณด้านข้างของอาคาร ส่วนอาคารนี้ก็ได้ปรับเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์ธนาคารไทย มีการจัดแสดงเกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์การเงิน การธนาคาร จำลองห้องทำการธนาคาร ห้องพักผู้จัดการในอดีต และโดยเฉพาะตัวอาคารเอง ก็เป็นอาคารประวัติศาสตร์เช่นกัน

History
The Siam Commercial Bank, Lampan branch, which is now the Thai Banking Museum, is a 2-storey brick masonry building of Colonial style. Its distinct features are the front porch supported by pillars and arches. The ground floor used to be the bank office and the first floor the residence of the branch manager. The residential area is surrounded by louver walla, which provide good ventilation, and verandah.
The building is important as the first bank in Lampang province, and the 3rd branch of the Siam Commercial Bank in Thailand after Thung Song and Chiang Mai. The Lampang Branch was established in the reign of King Rama Vll because the Bank committee, leading by Phraya Chaiyotsombat, perceived that Lampang was economically prospered both by trades and by teak logging yet Thai currency was so rare that the people had to use the Burmese rupee instead, which resulted in a finalcial disadvantage. Therefore, the Lampang Branch was cinstructed in 1930 and, apart from being a branch office, the building used to be resided by some of Thailand’s very important persons. One of which was Mom Ratchawong Kukrit Pramoj, National Artist, during the time when he was Lampang Branch Manager.
In 1997, a new branch office was built beside this building and the office has then moved out. The former branch office is rehabilitated as a Thai Banking Museum, which exhibits the hidtory of curreccied and banking in Thailand, the model of original office, and the manager residence of the old day.
