Job Summary
The Junior Graphic Designer will be part of an expanding and specialist Hospitality team within greymatters. The role will work closely with a team of motivated and experienced design professionals in our Bangkok Studio. Working as part of a collaborative design team you will help interpret Client and Operator Briefs in creating Brand Design schedules and Documentation through innovative and impactful design solutions, across a variety of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining brand identity across various touchpoints.
- Collaborate creative teams to execute branding strategies.
- Design brand collaterals, including menus, brochures, signage, packaging, etc.
- Support in logo applications, typography selection, and brand guideline development.
- Edited and enhanced brand imagery, ensuring high-quality visual presentation.
- Work on wayfinding and environmental graphics to enhance guest experiences.
- Assist in brand design aligned with the brand aesthetic.
- Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints by following brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with the creative team to produce visually compelling materials for internal and external use.
Education/Qualifications
- Tertiary related qualification (BA, BSc) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Related memberships or affiliations to Professional Organisations preferable
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- At least 1-2 years of related Brand Identity work experience in a professional Design organization.
- Preferable experience and exposure to graphic design, preferably within hospitality, lifestyle, or luxury brands, both urban and resort properties
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong portfolio showcasing branding, print materials, and collateral design.
- Attention to detail and strong understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
- Good calligraphic skill.
- Ability to handle multiple design projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for hospitality branding and visual storytelling.
- Experience with packaging and wayfinding design (a plus).
Written and Verbal Language Skills
- English: Good communication in written and spoken English and computer skills
- Thai: Fluent written and spoken Thai
- Other languages an advantage
Exposure (Other indirect experiences that would be beneficial to the role)
- A demonstration of a ‘passion for design’ and a sincere interest in Hospitality Lighting design would be considered a major advantage
