Safety Manager

Job Purpose:

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategies to ensure full compliance with corporate, client, and regulatory requirements. This role supports the project team by promoting a strong safety culture, managing risk, and ensuring safe operations across all project activities.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible in supporting HSE Strategies and Implementations at ExxonMobil Bangkok project.
• Conducts inspections and assessments to evaluate the performance in relation to Corporate HSE directives, guidelines and regulatory requirement.
• Develops and maintains procedures to ensure compliance to all client, company and local requirements.
• Reports and communicates incidents and regulatory actions per the corporate protocol.
• Submits weekly / monthly safety report and corporate reports per requirements.
• Develops working relationships with local regulatory agencies and serves as the client’s point of contact for all inspections and inquiries.
• Monitors, reviews and interprets existing and proposed changes to occupational health and safety and environmental regulations, HSE Leadership / Training / Communication/initiatives.
• Participates on the project management team in the budgeting, strategic planning, Corporate HSE governance, auditing, management system, best practice exchanges, compliance initiatives and governmental/regulatory reporting.
• Assists the project management team in establishing objectives and metrics in alignment with company HSE goals and initiatives.
• Have the ability to recognize strategic opportunities and focus HSE resources to meet critical business needs, understand organizational dynamics and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Provides coaching and development to the project team in the areas of HSE.
• Develops and conducts HSE training to employees / workers.
• Develops and implements emergency response plans and serves as the emergency coordinator for events.
• Check and advise employees / workers to abide by law on occupational health and safety and environment.
• Analyze the work to identify possible danger, including determination and proposing measures and prevention steps for safety at work to employees.
• Risk assessment of safety at work.
• Analyze work plans and projects including advice from all departments and provide advice on safety measures to employees / workers.
• Check and evaluate the operation of the site in accordance with the plan and project or work safety measures.
• Give advice to employees / workers in compliance with regulations and recommendations.
• Give advice, teach, and train employees / workers for safety and not risk.
• Give advice to employees / workers about safety management on the site and continuously developing for efficiency.
• To analyze and check the cause of the accident, illness or nuisance caused by the work of the employee and make the investigation report together with a suggestion for the management team immediately.
• Compile statistical data, analyze, make reports and give advice on accidents, illness or nuisance caused by employees / workers.
• Hazardous waste management.
• Organize safety activities in other careers as assigned by the company.

Requirements/Job Specifications:

Academic:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional safety certifications or HSE-related training will be an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, preferably in industrial, construction, or oil & gas projects.
• Proven experience in implementing corporate HSE policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
• Hands-on experience in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Experience working with regulatory authorities and managing audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Strong experience in delivering HSE training and promoting safety awareness across project teams.

• Excellent ability to conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
