Horticulturist

Job Summary:

Horticulture (Junior Horticulturist) supports the horticultural team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of landscape projects. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with foundational horticultural knowledge and a strong interest in landscape consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Excellence

• Prepare research materials and compile design content for review by the Horticultural/ Design Team.
• Assist in plant selection, installation, and maintenance activities.
• Conduct site assessments under supervision to collect data on soil, light, and water conditions.
• Support in preparing horticultural documentation and reports.

2. Team Wellbeing

• Provide general support and note taking during Client visits, nurseries visit and site inspections.

3. Financial

• Assist in documentation and design/ construction reports in various softscape design, implementation and construction stages

4. Growth and Business Technology

• Help maintain plant databases and plant inventory records (contributes to structured digital knowledge management).
• Support in digital documentation and presentation production (likely involves tools like Excel, InDesign, CAD, etc.).

Requirements/ Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic plant identification skills and understanding of local flora.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites.
• Eager to learn, with attention to detail and good teamwork skills.
• Strong desire to develop skills in nursery inspection, documentation, and planting layout.
